Do you know about digital printing?

In general, we recommend that customers choose digital in the following three scenarios:

  1. Sample, quantity 200–1000, used to inspect the effect of design on the actual finished product,
  2. Test marketing, the number of 1000–5000, used to test the feedback of product launch
  3. Trial production, quantity 5000–10,000, used to test marketing feedback

Through the above three applications, we can reduce the trial-and-error cost of new products in the early stage and finally choose large quantities of traditional gravure printing. The unit price is cheap, and there will be no waste of cylinder cost

The same size, the same bag type, and the same material. To meet the three conditions, each pattern has a minimum order of 200. For multiple patterns, the higher the quantity, the cheaper the price, because the cylinder fee alone is a large cost-saving

Advantages of digital printing:

  1. Small MOQ: There is no minimum MOQ requirement for digital printing, which can meet the needs of small batch or personalized printing.
  2. No need to publish cylinders: Digital printing does not require the production of copper plates, saving time and cost.
  3. Short cycle and fast speed: the operation of digital printing is simple and fast, which can provide fast printing services and save time.

But the disadvantages of digital printing should also be clear to you

Disadvantages of digital printing:

  1. High-temperature limit: The toner or ink used in digital printing is sensitive to high temperatures, and exceeding 80 degrees may lead to reduced printing quality or damage.
  2. Printing spot color bias: The printing color accuracy of digital printing is relatively low, and there may be color bias or incomplete match with the design draft.

Digital printing and intaglio printing have the same spot color contrast

  1. Size limitation: The size of the printing area of digital printing is limited, and for projects with large-size printing needs, digital printing may not be able to meet them. The maximum film width for digital printing is 740mm, and the maximum film width for gravure printing (intaglio printing) is 1100mm

In summary, although digital printing has some shortcomings, it has obvious advantages and convenience for small batch and personalized printing.
